About Rylan

I’m Rylan Mills and I help plumbers make their life easy.

While you’re probably reading this because you want to become a better plumber, here’s a little about me.

I’ve worked in the industry for roughly 25 years now. I have many interesting stories from the field, from fixing toilets to unclogging sewers.¬†

I’ve met thousands of people in the industry and countless of stories that would make your day.

Plumber, Father, Teacher, Author, and Speaker. I enjoy blogging and vlogging about what it means to be a plumber in 2022. I also love talking with other plumbers on my Podcasts and creating YouTube videos.

I started my blog as a way to express my opinions and experiences as a plumber, as well as discuss important issues I see in the plumbing industry.

I started working at the age of 16 in plumbing but didn’t work as an actual plumber (licensed) until the age of 18. After completing an apprenticeship program, I have called Massachusetts home ever since.

I was born in California, and moved to Boston when I was 8 with my family, and have been here ever since! Going to college, I started as a business major, but that quickly turned into a social science major when I realized I hated the business world.

After college, I started working for a company that would provide me with the start of my career. Two years of working for them, and gaining valuable experience, lead me to pursue my love for plumbing by starting my own business.

In the last few years, I have been able to grow my business and provide for my family. It has been a long road of hard work and dedication, but it has all paid off through the years.

Now that I am older and wiser, I have learned how to handle situations differently than when I was younger. I have learned how to delegate tasks and plan my time more effectively. I have also learned how to manage my employees, as well as their expectations of each other.

The most important thing I have learned is how important it is to surround myself with people who are smarter than me; this way they can help me learn more in less time.

I have learned that it is important to maintain a positive attitude. If you are always looking on the bright side of things, then you will be able to see things in a different light.

I have also learned that patience is one of the most important traits anyone can possess; without it, you will surely fail at whatever task or project you are working on.
